Building an institutional
Private Credit platform
Since its founding in 2011, Greenpoint Capital has grown into an established private credit platform focused on delivering structured capital solutions to South African businesses. While the firm has expanded in scale and capability, the core principles that shaped the business at inception remain unchanged: disciplined investment, specialist structuring expertise and a commitment to supporting businesses at pivotal moments in their development.
2011 – 2014
Founded in Greenpoint, Cape Town South Africa, as a subsidiary of a Mauritian Bank. Ryan Wood-Collier (CEO) implements Private Credit strategy, seeing the opportunity for flexible private credit funding solutions.
2014 – 2016
Management buy-out supported by local South African Investment company Stellar Capital Partners, business renamed to Greenpoint Capital.
2017 – 2020
First institutional investors conclude due diligence and invest. Nic Van Zyl (CIO) joins business from Investec UK. AUM expands to R1.0bn +.
2021 – 2023
Johannesburg office opened. Janine Rabe (COO) joins business. AUM expands R2.0bn +.
2024 – 2026
Continued growth in team and investment activity. AUM expands to R3.0bn+
